I don't get it. San Diego might be the worst team in pro football right now. They may have some skill guys, one of which took himself out of last weeks game, but their offensive and defensive lines are HORRIBLE. In fact, their entire defense, DL, linebackers, and youthful secondary can't play the pass or the run!

I know Boller has not shined, but he sure gets an opportunity here, because I'm sure the Charger's defense will look really similar to the Raven's 2nd unit that Boller practices against.

I know mediocrity reigns supreme in the NFL, but the Ravens should roll here.

I agree with you. I really like Balt here but what concerns me is, you know SD is going to stack the line and make Boller beat them. I don't know if he can. SD needs his game bad.

SD is not the worst team in football, but they are not that good either. The problem is stopping the run early and that could be trouble for them once again this week with Lewis. If they can keep it close early then they will use Tomlinson more and have to reely on Breeze trying to make another fultile comeback.

While I will most likely play Balt, I feel the true value is on the OVER which has dipped to 39.5.

Good luck however you play it.

In case anyone is wondering the ravens left for San Diego wed. A little earlier then a normal week because of this damn hurricane thing going on.Billick says he is going to keep the ravens on east coast time with wake up calls and bed check. However he always lets the players do what they want during the day. So plan on Chris McAlister going to Mexico or getting pick up on some drug charge. also it looks like Edwin Mulitalo is going to be out for the game.
As a raven season ticket holder this game scares me. #1 going cross country and leaving a few days early( they will be practice at sdsu)
#2 i think they might be looking ahead to next week with former raven Priest Holmes coming to town. I hope this is not one of those let down games.

just a little insight...........good luck boys

the only reason I'm wary of the Ravens is because Pittsburgh smoked 'em week one, what was that all about? What happended to their pass defense?

Pittsburgh has the passing game in football, and you can thank Sam Wyche, Sam gets 5 calls a week from coach Milarkey getting advice. Also Tommy Maddox has always had great coaching with Homer Smith, Mike Shanahan, Al Luginbill.

John Butler rip spent money on guys who cant play or who get hurt. Fontoti,Brees,Caldwell,Cody all complete busts. Fonoti is career will be over in 2 yrs. Schottenheimer cant evaluate talent and they have no veteran leadership, they let there best wr go in Conway, Oline is makeshift, Wiley,Boston are hurt. And the offense is very predictable, and Drew Brees is horrible on 3rd downs and when he finally does make a good pass it gets dropped. They should have never let Norv Turner get away, Schottenheimer and Butler wrecked the team. Spanos has his head up his ass.

Railbird...

Amen, brother. And you didn't even mention the $8 mill the Chargers are flushing down the toilet with Stephen Alexander and Tim Dwight.

BZ, only two team have played worse through two games, Chicago and Arizona. So you are right they aren't the worst team in football, just one of the worst. The Chargers get beat first and foremost in the trenches.

The only reason the secondary had a bad year last year is because there was absolutely no pressure from the DL and opposing QB's had all day to pick apart the DB's. So what did the Chargers do to rectify the situation...wipe out the entire secondary, get rid of perhaps their best defensive player in history, and not draft or sign one defensive lineman.....unbeleivable.

plus letting Seau go was probably the biggest bone-head move on their part, IMO.

There is nobody who has been harder on the Chargers and bet against them more than me. However, I'm starting to get the sneaky suspicion that the Chargers will get the W on Sunday. I will be there to witness it. David Boston will be back in action, and Jamal Lewis woke up a sleeping dog with his stupid comments. The Chargers don't have many winnable games on their schedule, and this is ONE of the few. Their biggest weakness is their secondary, which Boller is not yet ready to exploit. THe Ravens have been staying at a 10* resort here since Wednesday, and can't possibly be focused despite Billick's tyranny. Having watched and attended Charger games for years, this is the type of game they usually get. Then they will get clobbered in Oakland next week.

"seau's tank has been on E since the late 90s" o.k. sure he's getting old, but explain the drop-off in defense this year. Why try and rebuild this year when they had a lot of positives from last year, with the heart and soul of their defense still on their team. Leadership and experience count for a lot.

This is the worse charger team ever, the youngest team ever, the dumbest team ever, the worst coach chrager team ever, most injured team. Getting rid of Harrison and Conway you got rid of there best wr the team has ever had and the best defensive player the team ever had. Not to mention the fans know darn well the team is moving to LA next year.

The San Diego Union Tribune had an interesting article on David Boston yesterday. The Cardinal organazation had some real concerns David, and were more than glad to get rid of him and his accompanying baggage. This guy is a head case. Only time will tell how effective he will be.

The Chargers have played KC and Denver. Two teams with GREAT offenses! Baltimore has played Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Pittsburgh has a GREAT passing offense but can't run, and Cleveland flat out sucks. Baltimore can only do three things, run left, run middle, and run right and SD knows that.

After looking at this more, I think San Diego has a decent shot here. Probably going to be a no play.

Here's something to think about..... Subsitute Denver or Kansas City in for Cleveland last week. And let's say Baltimore loses to go to 0-2. Then you have 2 teams SD and Balt that are 0-2 looking for their first win. Does Batimore look that good now? Probably not.

I guess what I am saying (and I was guilty of this too)is...is Baltimore really that good or is Cleveland that bad.

In Cleveland's first game against Indianapolis they gave up 4.5 ypc to Edgerrin James but dumbass Indy only ran him 15 times the whole game.

Just something to think about.

KMAN, you bring up very good points, but also consider that the San Diego coach is a re-tread and teh game has passed him by. This game may be close, but Schottenheimer is so dumb, he'll find a way to lose it
